Preparing your heart for Easter: EasterNow App

Hello y'all!

Easter is this Sunday! What are you doing to get ready for Easter? Now, I am not talking about a last-minute rush to the drug store to fill an Easter basket with candy or dying eggs til little fingers are every color of the rainbow. But what are you doing to prepare your heart and your family for Easter? Easter isn't about chocolate bunnies, egg hunts, and pastel-coordinated outfits. Don't get me wrong those are all fun things but that's not Easter. Easter is the most important day in all of humanity! We are celebrating the day Jesus rose from the grave! Jesus died for our sins and on the third day rose again proving to the world that Jesus is truly the Son of God!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I encourage you to take time this week to prepare your heart to celebrate Easter. How does one prepare their heart? I am not an expert by any means but my top suggestion is to spend time this week in God's Word. My favorite way to spend time in God's Word during Passion Week is with the EasterNow App. (Now this isn't sponsored, I am not getting paid at all to share their app or write this post.) A friend of mine shared the app with me several years ago and ever since I use the app each Easter as a way to prepare for Easter Sunday.

Now, what is the EasterNow App? The EasterNow App walks you through the timeline of Passion Week and the events leading up to Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. Each day at set times you will get notifications from the app to walk the journey to the cross with Jesus, with scripture you can read and take a moment to pray over. On Good Friday there is one for every hour, to truly understand the day Jesus had when he died. How can we celebrate the gift He gave us if we don't know the torture and torment Jesus faced willingly for us?

So I challenge you to join me in devotion time this week by downloading and following along in the EasterNow App. So we can better receive the gift of Easter Sunday!
