CHS and Coffee

January 17, 2018

Hello, Y'all!

It's a chilly one, like 9 degrees chilly, here in Birmingham. Sadly not a lot of snow but some slick ice. If you were lucky enough to get snow yesterday and wake up to a snow day today, then you should check out my last post, 10 Snow Day Activities. Now that I am cuddled up with warm blankets and a corgi at my feet, I am ready to get down to business!

During my visit home for Christmas, I had the chance to visit my all-time favorite city, Charleston. It was a blistering cold day, but nothing could knock the smile off my face because I was in my happy place! Due to it being the Tuesday after Christmas many shops were closed for an extended holiday, but we were able to enjoy lunch at our favorite restaurant, Amen's Street (I wrote all about it HERE) and visit one of the cutest shops, Skinny Dip Charleston. I wrote about my experience at Skinny Dip last summer HERE and was delighted to see that they were open during this day trip. And to top it off they were having a sale! I had been eyeing the CHS blue and white sweater since the launch of the store last Spring but couldn't justify the price tag, but with a sale and recently acquired Christmas money I finally got it!

Of course, I had to wear it the next day during a trip to the lovely little town of Hartsville while visiting my favorite coffee shop The Midnight Rooster. If you are ever in Hartsville or close by, you have to try their pimento cheese biscuits and Shavey Man coffee. Yummy!

To style this white winter sweater, I went casual with blue jeans and a chambray button-down top. To add a classic and very preppy touch, I went with pearl accessories and ballet flats. Winter whites go perfectly with pastels, so I stayed warm during our window shopping with this pale pink coat, mentioned last Fall.

This outfit and versions of it have become my go-to look this season. What is your go-to look this winter?

 The Look: {Coat - Last summer sale find but found similar}{Ruffled button down - The Loft similar but pink}{Pearl Necklace and bracelet- KJP}{Flats - JCrew Factory}{Skinny Jeans - The Loft}{Sweater - Ellsworth & Ivey}
