So today is my birthday. I really can't believe I am 26. The last year has been a whirlwind. If you told me on my birthday last year that I would be moving home to Hartsville South Carolina, opening my own retail space, plus all the other milestone markers created within the previous year, I would have laughed. I was comfortable, and I thought I knew everything and was in control. News flash no one is in complete control, and no one has it all figured out. All the successes I have been finding in recent months are all based on the trust I have put in the Lord during a time of unknowns.
Last year was maybe one of the hardest ones I have had to face with lots of decisions. They say the three most stressful things are changes in relationships, careers, and moving, well in October I did all three in a matter of days. Thank you to my wonderful parents, supportive friends and fantastic counselor (I am a true believer in getting help when you need it.) I got through that season and started to sow new dreams and goals.
I put my trust in the Lord, listened to my heart and with the help of my parents decided to fully dive into Southern'spirations brand. Not only is it a fun blog, a space to showcase my client marketing projects but now a retail space. There was a lot of late nights and earlier mornings, but you know what I love it. I love getting the opportunity to create, to inspire and bring joy to my neighbors locally and globally.
So much has changed in one year but I wouldn't change a thing, with that change I have grown and I am proud of the person I have become. I am a firm believer in blooming where you are planted, and I can't wait to see what year 26 brings as I follow His plan and put my trust in Him. I encourage you to do the same, stop worrying about the little things, give yourself and others grace when things go unexpected and give all glory to God.
