My Valentine's Day | A Letter to Singles

Hello Y'all!

If you asked me a month ago what I was doing for Valentine's Day or for Valentine content, I would have avoided the subject or brush it off. But I realized that just because tomorrow I don't have a traditional Valentine (I have been told my pup Eloise doesn't count) that doesn't mean I can't celebrate. During this season I have learned so much about myself and starting to enjoy "dating" myself. And to be real with y'all this is the first Valentine's Day in five years that I am single, which on the one hand feels quite weird but on the other feels freeing. I don't have the pressure of getting someone a gift, cooking the perfect meal or fighting the dinner reservation craziness. But again that doesn't mean I should skip a day that is a celebration of love. I have so many people in my life that I love and I know love me, my family, my friends and most of all my Lord and Savior.

"But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness." - Psalm 86:15

With love like that, I can't do anything but celebrate! But how am I doing to celebrate? Well, a quick day trip down to Charleston seems to fit the bill. My mom and I plan to head downtown to get some sweet treats, take hundreds of photos and enjoy my happy place.

I challenge you, if you are single this Valentine's Day, to celebrate. Maybe with a friend or see a movie by yourself (it is funnier than you think.) Celebrate the love that surrounds you and the love you have for yourself because you are amazing and beautifully made, so you deserve a day just like all the couples filling up your Instagram feed. I wish you the best Valentine's Day ever.

Blessings from Hartsville,
