Art of Gift Wrapping

Happy Christmas Eve!!

Raise your hand if you're a "last minute wrapper". Well, I am here to help! Let us make it look like you've spent hours finding the perfect bow and tags even if you have 15 minutes until the Christmas celebration. Wrapping presents is an art form but like finger painting, anyone can do it! 5 dollar gift seems like a million bucks with the right wrapping.

Let's get down to business, shall we? We got presents to wrap!

Tips for Gift Wrapping

1. Buy a kit of neutral ribbons and bows. I suggest a kit of white, gold, and silver. The metallic material will match any paper you choose but will also add a glitzy touch.

2. Find tags that match the paper and/or the bows & ribbons. Sticker tags or paper tags do not really matter but making sure they fit in with the theme does.

3. Line up your stripes and patterns. It will take two extra seconds but will make you look like a pro.

4. Use minimal tape. If wrapped properly you should not use more than four pieces of tape. Two on the bottom and one on each side.

5. Make clean creases. When folding the sides in, make sure you take the extra second to create a nice crease. The clean lines will be sure to impress your toughest critique.

6. Tie paired gifts together. Do you have two gifts for the same person? Stack the gifts and put a bow on top!

7. Mix and match papers. It adds a touch of whimsy to the gifts and under the tree, use several different papers.

8. Go with a bag for gifts that are weirdly shaped and bulky. Save yourself the headache of trying to wrap a ball.

9. Fluff tissue paper. Make sure if you are using a bag that the tissue paper is not crumpled and stand crisp and fills the bag nicely.

10. If it is a weird shape and you are running late. Bag it and tag it.

Blessings from Birmingham and Merry Christmas!
