Time for plaid
Last weekend we had a blast celebrating Autumn in the mountains of North Carolina. The mountains were like a watercolor painting of reds, oranges, and golden yellows. I absolutely adore the mountains this time of year and always make it my personal mission to spend at least a couple days there each Fall. This trip we enjoyed some time in Highland, North Carolina, where we shopped a little, walked a bunch and ate a lot! Oh, boy, did we take advantage of the amazing food! From a coffee break and smoked salmon snack to caramel apples and fudge dessert, it was all delicious! It was such a wonderful weekend to relax before the rush of the Holiday season.
The Holiday season started with a bang right after Halloween. And I am not complaining one bit! I absolutely love everything about this time of year! From planning Christmas parties to making my Christmas village display, all of it is wonderful! Just call me a Christmas elf!! One of my favorites during the Holiday season is the use of fun plaids! Honestly this year plaid seems to be everywhere, from Christmas pajamas to hand towels. Unless you are Christmas crazy like me and wear your Christmas PJs year round, it is not yet time to pull out the Christmas tartan or red and green plaid.
It is still time for plaid! A beautiful green and navy plaid is perfect during the transition from everything orange and black to full out Christmas. Southern Proper has a wonderful green and navy plaid pattern! I have been eyeing their classic plaid baseball cap for some time now and excitedly got it while in Highlands! Southern Proper's take on the classic green and navy plaid is timeless, it is no wonder why this is the plaid cap is one of their best sellers. I even wore the hat out of the store haha. How could I not? The green of the plaid went perfectly with the green bell sleeve top I had picked to wear that morning. And the baseball cap finished the casual look completely.
Blessings from Birmingham!
